Match scores look wrong

Wrong-looking scores are usually data or gates, not a random bug.

Checklist

  1. Main skill on the job and on the candidate — catalog alignment?

  2. Languages filled on both sides?

  3. Rate, modality, location, min. experience on the job?

  4. Candidate availability — auto-match may skip unavailable/placed.

  5. Open the score detail bars and read the gate reason (skill, language, modality, experience, …).

  6. Weights in matching settings — did someone change them? Recalculate after changes.

  7. Skills catalog / dictionary — duplicate or empty principals?

What to do

  1. Fix the job and candidate fields.

  2. Recalculate matching on that job.

  3. Re-open the candidate’s bars — confirm the gate cleared.

  4. If the profile is strategically right despite a gap, add manually and document the exception for the client brief.

Still wrong?

Compare two similar consultants: the one with complete languages/rate/skill almost always scores more honestly. Complete the poorer profile before chasing “engine” issues.
