Skills catalog & business dictionary

Matching quality depends on shared vocabulary. Two tools keep CV chaos from breaking scores.
Skills catalog
Unifies messy CV labels under one canonical skill (e.g. variant SAP names → one catalog entry). Candidates and jobs should reference the same catalog ideas so the main-skill gate and filters stay consistent.
Admins can review pending skill suggestions and maintain aliases when the desk invents new wording.

Business dictionary
Maps client wording (“S/4 finance rollout”, internal project nicknames) to the profile you actually search. Use it when briefs never say the catalog skill name out loud.

When to invest time
After importing a large CV pile.
When scores look random across similar consultants.
When two recruiters disagree what “the” skill is for a niche.
Workflow
Open the skills catalog / dictionary screens from product navigation or settings.
Merge or alias duplicates.
Fix main skill on hot candidates and open jobs.
Recalculate matching on those jobs.
Do this early; every later match reuses the cleanup.
